Terms of service
What you are agreeing to when you travel with us, and the limits of what we can promise on this route.
We arrange the journey carefully and tell you the truth about conditions. We cannot promise weather, road access or darshan, and nobody honestly can.
This is a working draft
It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and we are not taking payments on this website until it has been. We are publishing it early because you should be able to read our terms before you talk to us, not after.
Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you and Sacrednorth ("we", "us").
Parts of this journey are operated by licensed partners who hold the registrations required for permits and high-altitude travel. Where that is the case, we name the operator on the departure you are booking. We do not present a partner's licence as our own.
What we arrange
We arrange transport, stays, permits assistance, and coordination for the itinerary shown on the journey page you booked from. What is included and what is not is listed there, and that list is the one that governs.
Itineraries on this route are weather and permit dependent. We may change the order of days, substitute a stay of comparable standard, or shorten a segment where conditions require it. Where we do, we tell you why and what changed.
What we cannot promise
This is stated plainly because it is the single most common way pilgrimage travel goes wrong for people.
- Darshan of Adi Kailash or Om Parvat. Cloud can sit on the peak for days. Nobody can guarantee a viewing.
- Road access. Landslides and snow close this road with no notice and no appeal.
- Permits. Inner-line permits are issued by the administration, not by us. We prepare and submit correctly; we do not decide the outcome.
- Weather, visibility, or your own body's response to altitude.
Health and altitude
This journey crosses high altitude, above 4,000 metres in places, with limited medical access and long evacuation times. Acute mountain sickness can affect fit, young, experienced travellers.
You must tell us about existing medical conditions, medication and recent surgery when you book. We may decline or end a person's participation where we believe continuing is unsafe. That decision is about safety and is not a judgement about you.
Please consult a doctor who knows your history before you commit. We are not qualified to clear you medically and will not pretend to be.
Your responsibilities
Some of this journey only works if you hold up your end.
- Give accurate identity details. Permits are issued against them and a mismatch stops the whole group at a checkpost.
- Submit documents by the dates we give you. Permit offices have deadlines we cannot move.
- Carry valid identification for the whole journey.
- Respect the villages, shrines and households that host you. This is a lived-in place, not a set.
Liability
We are responsible for arranging the services described with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss caused by events outside reasonable control, including weather, road closure, administrative decisions, civil disruption, or your own medical condition.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Disputes
Talk to us first. Most of what goes wrong on a trip is fixable by a phone call to a person who was there.
These terms are governed by Indian law.
The jurisdiction for formal disputes will be stated here once the contracting entity is registered.
